Summary of Kurzweil video

Kurzweil's talk was very hard to follow but by the end of the video I was very frightened for the human race as his futuristic ideas explained that humans will one day be worthless because of the evolution of technology. He discusses how medicine, technology and life expectancy will slowly grow before accelerating to great advancements. He speaks of inserting technology into the human body to change and replace its natural traits and produce an advanced species. He says that his idea of vast human technological growth was only a few decades away. When humans would be able to run at Olympic speeds for 15 minutes without getting tired. Or staying underwater without breathing for 4 hours. And the brain will be engineered and modified. But this presents the problem about technology and its reliability. Further what will happen to us when we die? Or will shut down like a computer? The possibilities of these new technological advancements have great advantages especially in medicine but the disadvantages such as turning the human race into unemotional robots without ethics outweigh the good.
